What you will be doing

Individuals within the IT Infrastructure Automation team have a responsibility to deliver robust, scalable, and innovative solutions to improve day-to-day operations and efficiencies to their stakeholders and the business.

IT infrastructure automation engineer is expected to lead collaborative discussions with stakeholders to guarantee that customer’s needs are fully met and, preferably, exceeded. Members of this team are expected to proactively analyze trends to determine future opportunities to support business objectives.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Be able to provide end-to-end solutions from the requirement gathering/discovery phase to production roll-out
  • Be proactively involved in automation strategy setting, advertise and encourage automation culture
  • Be a go-to person for all automation related queries to all AmerisourceBergen colleagues, be able to represent the team in various calls with internal and external colleagues
  • This is a relatively new team so you will be strongly involved in setting the team strategy and creating the best practices
  • Develop using industry best practices and adhering to internal standards
  • Provide technical insight during design and development stages
  • Clearly communicate project status, risks, challenges with stakeholders; Present stakeholders with iterative demonstrations to show development progress
  • Leverage experience to bridge the knowledge gap between the technical and non-technical

Experience And Educational Requirements:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in development, DevOps or similar role
  • Hands-on experience in programming (JavaScript, Python, PowerShell is an advantage)
  • Experience with automation orchestration tool(s) is a strong advantage (Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, Rundeck etc.)
  • Familiar with SDLC, SAFe and Agile methodologies
  • Familiar with ITSM tools (ServiceNow)

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, And Ability Requirements:

  • Good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and multidiscipline team, learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of IT and passion to automate it all, motivated to constantly be up to date with the newest technologies and proactively bring ideas to the table
  • Proactiveness and technical leadership
  • Be open for change and drive/support initiatives to improve existing process
